AMAZING LEARNING
On this page you will see examples of some of the amazing learning that children at Fairlight have been doing. This might have been in class. It might have been after school. It might be at home.
Learning can happen everywhere and we wanted to show you some of what we see in classrooms, showcased in an assembly, completed at home or just improvised and inside the head of of our children.
A fanstastic poem from Mikayla in Year 6 saying Thank you to teachers.
Thank You Teachers for Everything You’ve Done.
By Mikayla Year 6
Thank you, teachers, for picking us up when we were down.
In the weight of our emotions, you blocked out the sound.
You are a second parent not one of you we will forget.
You deal with us all the time without a reason and without this rhyme.
You deserve a thank you after all this time.
6 years or maybe 7 that’s an awfully long time.
You have dealt with screaming, yelling, and tears but sometimes there were smiles and laughter not just a sad chime.
We are all eleven, but you’ve seen us before when we were younger, maybe life four?
We want to thank you for everything you’ve done because soon we’ll be gone.
So, thank you dearly for being there even when we felt we merely needed you, so, thank you.
Next up, is our memories let’s dive right in.
Remember London or maybe Hastings when we got that tour well that’s no bore.
Swimming in year three, five and for some of us six, on those days we were never off sick!
The residential will be one to remember climbing, heights and maybe some frights, don’t forget our mucky adventure!
So, we raise a glass (but not of wine, obviously) and make a toast to all our fun times!
We wish everyone here could follow us into the new year, because we like and care for every one of you here and there.
Don’t worry parents you and all!
You all prepared us for the fall, when year six (the best year of our time), will be yet another distant rhyme.
Year six is one we will remember, it will be so hard to forget!
Don’t worry I have a feeling we’ll meet again.
But not for you to teach us anymore, but maybe our younger ones when they’re four.
We hope you listen to us dearly because we will never be a mere memory.
Thank you for everything!
Thank you everyone and anyone!
