P.E and Sports Premium Funding

At Fairlight Primary & Nursery School, the Primary Physical Education and Sport Premium funding 2022 -23 was used to help improve the following five key indicators across the school:

  • The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick-starting healthy, active lifestyles.
  • The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement.
  • Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport.
  • Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.
  • Increased participation in competitive sport.

As a school we have used the funding specifically towards:

  • Investing in a new PE curriculum
  • Investment to improve school equipment contributing to the delivery of high quality PE lessons and a stimulating play environment.
  • Staff training to build capability and capacity.
  • Targeted curriculum provision for vulnerable pupils.
  • Increasing the variety and sustainability of extended school provision and increasing the number of vulnerable pupils accessing extra curricular activities.
  • Increasing participation of all pupils in competitive sports.

It is our aim to continue to enhance the teaching and learning in PE at Fairlight and to make the best use of our resources
