#CLPE Words for the World!
In September, Year 5 took part in a project run by CLPE (the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education) based upon the book Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers. Our pupils wrote, illustrated and published their own folding picture books on the theme of what they would like the future of our planet to be like. Pupils from around the country joined with famous story book authors to tweet their writing, art and thoughts on September 24th 2020 with the hashtag #CLPEWordsForThe World.
The Immaterial War Museum!
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are not able to go on trips that we might usually have at present, such as our annual trip to visit the Imperial War Museum in London. However, we are going to make our own virtual museum, where we can exhibit our own topic projects and family artefacts and photos to do with the Great War of 1914 to 1918, called the Immaterial War Museum! Our virtual Museum will open online on this page on November 11th 2020, with photos and information about each exhibit written by the pupils. So, when you and your child have made your topic project, you can send us a photo or video clip of it, and we will help your child to write something about what they have created! Alternatively, send them in with it, and we can take a photo and help them to talk about their project.
