Dance at the Dome 2023 Thursday 16th March 2023
Due to strike action, the school will be closed to all pupils on this day.
The Organisers of Dance at the Dome were unable to cancel or alter the event as I am sure you can appreciate a huge amount of work goes into the planning and organisation of this event.
REHEARSAL
Children will have their dress rehearsal at the Brighton Dome on Thursday 16th March as usual.
Therefore, this year, I ask if you could bring your child to the Dome for the rehearsal.
It is essential that children attend the rehearsal as this is the first time they will get to perform on the main stage.
We will be meeting in front of the Brighton Museum in the pavilion gardens at 10.00 am and then going in to our allocated slot.
Please arrive from 9.50 in this place as we need to be entering by 10.05am.
Sadly due to Safeguarding you will not be able to come in to the rehearsal.
Our rehearsal should taken around 40 minutes.
Please therefore collect your child from the same place at 10.50 am.
Could you ensure your child arrives at the entrance of the dome wearing their complete costume.
THE PERFORMANCE
On the evening, we will be meeting in front of the Brighton Museum in the pavilion gardens at 5:40pm.
Please arrive promptly as we will need to head towards the dressing rooms at 5:45pm.
All children must be in their costumes as we will have limited time in the dressing rooms.
The performance starts at 7pm and finishes at 9pm with a 20 minute interval – because the interval is tight and due to the number of participants involved it is not possible to allow parents to see children (or buy refreshments for them).
Children will watch all the performances from their allocated seats.
COLLECTING YOUR CHILD AFTER THE PERFORMANCE
There will be an announcement at the end of the show telling you where and when to collect your child.
The evening should finish at 9pm.
If you are not coming to watch the performance, please come to the front entrance to meet your child-this will be after all of the other children have been safely dismissed.
Please ensure the school has your current contact details in case of emergencies.
Please tell Miss Blankson if someone other than a child’s named parents/carers will be collecting them form the Dome.
Children will not be allowed to go home with anyone else unless I have previously been told.
If there are any changes on the day, please urgently contact the school.
If you have any problems/ questions please come and speak to Miss Blankson
